UI community can explore volunteer opportunities Jan. 25
Nearly 50 local community-based organizations will be represented at the University of Iowa Volunteer Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, in the Main Lounge of the Iowa Memorial Union.
The fair is an opportunity for UI students, faculty, and staff to learn more about and volunteer with local nonprofit organizations. Several civic and government organizations will be represented, as well as cultural and historical groups, educational and child care organizations, animal rescue and adoption organizations, and health and human services agencies.
Students can also explore careers with nonprofits and gain experience related to their majors. Faculty can become acquainted with organizations for future service-learning partnerships and publicly engaged scholarship endeavors.
Free refreshments will be available.
