President remarks on news of flood recovery funding

University of Iowa President Sally Mason issued a statement today on news that the university will receive additional funding for flood recovery. Read the announcement in an Iowa Homeland Security news release issued earlier today: http://www.iowahomelandsecurity.org/documents/releases/2012/RELEASE_011112.pdf.

"This is exciting news from our state and federal elected leaders," UI President Sally Mason says. "It is the result of much hard work and coordination by the Iowa Office of Homeland Security, FEMA, and many university staff members. Much work remains, but I'm confident that, together, we can restore the University of Iowa campus in a way that is both modern and fiscally prudent, serving our students, our campus community, and the entire state of Iowa for decades to come."

Mason added that the university plans to have significant project-by-project flood recovery reports of progress at the Iowa Board of Regents' February and March meetings.
