Statewide celebration of science, technology, engineering and math planned for fall

"iExploreSTEM," a statewide inaugural celebration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) will take place Sunday, Sept. 18, at the State Hygienic Laboratory at the University of Iowa Research Park in Coralville, Iowa. STEM experts from around the state are invited to join as sponsors and exhibitors.

A collaboration of the Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Partnership (IMSEP) and the State Hygienic Laboratory, "iExploreSTEM" is a free, hands-on festival for Iowa's elementary and middle school students and their families designed to spur interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. This one-day event will feature compelling, educational and entertaining activities, stage events and exhibits to boost kids' interest in STEM. It will also help raise awareness in both parents and children of the STEM-related educational and career opportunities available in Iowa.

To become a sponsor or to host an exhibit, visit http://www.iexplorestem.org/get-involved or call 319-335-9486.
