Reading streamed on UI Writing University marks Older Americans Month
May is Older Americans Month and the University of Iowa's Writing University website will provide a live stream of an event in Prairie Lights Books to celebrate the occasion with a public reading from noted older poets. The free event will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, May 6.
The Iowa City Senior Center's Reading Aloud group will read poems by Elizabeth Bishop, Donald Justice, Stanley Kunitz, W.S. Merwin, Wislawa Szymborska and W.B. Yeats.
The readers, directed by Ina Loewenberg, are Julia Davis, Jonnifer Ellsworth, Pat Huff, Nancy Lynch, Cari Malone and Betty Norbeck.
