Media Advisory: Loebsack available during UI visit to learn about math, science education

WHAT: U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack will be available for media interviews during an upcoming visit to the University of Iowa campus to learn more about the UI College of Engineering’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities and the FIRST Tech Challenge Program, a robotics competition that will be held on the UI campus Feb. 26.

WHEN: Friday, Feb. 25, from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

WHERE: UI Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge.

WHO: In addition to Loebsack, interim College of Engineering Dean Alec Scranton; David G. Rethwisch, a UI professor of chemical and biochemical engineering and director of Project Lead the Way, which partners with middle schools and high schools to provide rigorous STEM education; and Keri Hornbuckle, professor of civil and environmental engineering and associate dean for academic programs in the College of Engineering, will also be on hand.
