Media Advisory: Planting scheduled for UI student greenhouse gas service project

WHAT: University of Iowa students in Art Bettis' Geology Field Trip: Selected National Parks course are planting more than 1,000 shrubs in an Iowa City park as part of a class project to offset the carbon emissions that will be created by their upcoming trip to Colorado and New Mexico.

WHEN: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, April 29 through Sunday May 1. Photographers and videographers who wish to cover this story are encouraged to visit the park mid-morning or early afternoon on Friday.

WHERE: Sycamore Greenspace, a trail that begins near Grant Wood Elementary School on Lakeside Drive and runs south to the Kickers Soccer Complex.
