UI Osher Lifelong Learning Institute announces fall courses
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Iowa has released its fall schedule of courses, which includes sessions covering a wide range of topics. Class subjects include politics, writing and literature, genealogy, history, Spanish, music, science, arts, de-cluttering, wine tasting, yoga, football, trips around Iowa, and more.
OLLI courses provide unique learning opportunities for all adults age 50 and older. There are no education or experience requirements to enroll, and there are no course tests or grades.
Lunch With The Chefs starts with 'Taste of the Southwest' Sept. 16
Iowa Memorial Union culinary staff has announced the 2010-2011 Lunch With the Chefs culinary calendar, starting with the "Taste of Southwest" lunch in the IMU Main Lounge Thursday, Sept. 16 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
On one Thursday of each month during the academic year, the IMU’s award-winning chefs prepare a themed lunch for the UI community served in the IMU Main Lounge.
The September lunch will feature the entrée of roasted cumin grilled chicken breast with smoked red pepper and goat cheese. See the complete menu at http://imu.uiowa.edu/food/lwtc/.
