S.T.A.T. hosts Beat State Week Sept. 7-12
The University of Iowa Alumni Association's Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow (S.T.A.T.) group is encouraging fans to show their Hawkeye pride during "Beat State Week," Tuesday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 12.
The seventh annual festival in advance of the Iowa/Iowa State football game Saturday, Sept. 11 features a corn-on-the-cob eating challenge at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Kautz Plaza (along the T. Anne Cleary Walkway).
Beat State Week includes T-shirt and button giveaways, "I Bleed Black and Gold" blood drives, mascot matchmaker speed dating, a giant slip and slide, free food and more.
To conclude the week, S.T.A.T will host the Beat Cancer 5K at 3 p.m. Sunday Sept. 12 in City Park.
