UI Alumni Association, ICAD host biotechnology networking event June 23
The University of Iowa Alumni Association and the Iowa City Area Development Group (ICAD) are hosting a biotechnology industry networking event from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, at The Vine, 39 2nd St. in Coralville.
The event is open to the public and is part of a series featuring growing industries and involvement opportunities in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City Corridor.
Confirmed industry attendees include representatives from Cellular Engineering Technologies, Inc. Compleware, the Iowa Biotechnology Association, VIDA Diagnostics, KemPharm and others.

Fireworks show design class will be held June 24
Lunch and Learn: Fireworks Show Design, a class offered by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Iowa, will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 24, in Room 283 of the Eckstein Medical Research Building, on the health sciences campus.
Students will learn how fireworks shows are planned and executed, and the class will include a brief video of a fireworks show.
The cost per person, which includes lunch, is $10 for Osher Institute members and $25 for non-members, which includes an institute membership.
