Hancher presents 'An Evening with Rosanne Cash' Feb. 10

Rosanne Cash is the keeper of the flame for one of the most famous family names in all of music. The University of Iowa's Hancher will present 'An Evening with Rosanne Cash' at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, at the Englert Theatre.

When Cash was 18 years old, her dad -- the legendary Johnny Cash -- was shocked to discover she didn't know a significant number of songs he considered essential to her musical education. The songs on her latest recording, "The List," are derived from the handwritten list her dad wrote out for her in 1973.

"The List" has been extremely well received and has garnered Cash a Grammy nomination for her performance of "Sea of Heartbreak," which features Bruce Springsteen.

Cash, a respected singer/songwriter in her own right, has a Grammy and several nominations to her credit as well as 21 Top 40 country singles.

The performance is supported by the Hancher partners and gifts to Hancher Circle through the UI Foundation.

Tickets for the performance are $47/42; college student $42.30/10; senior citizen $42.30/37.80; and youth $32.90/29.40 from the Hancher Box Office.

The Hancher Box Office, now located on the first floor of the south end of the Old Capitol Town Center near the parking ramp, is open for phone 319-335-1160 or 800-HANCHER or walk-up business from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays. Tickets may be ordered online at Any remaining tickets will be available for sale one hour before show time at the Englert Theatre.
