UI Hospitals and Clinics offers men's health seminar Dec. 8

Specialists at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City will host a free public seminar on treatments for erectile dysfunction (ED) and incontinence from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, in the East Room on the 8th level of the John Colloton Pavilion.

Attendees will learn about effective treatments and helpful solutions to ED and incontinence in men. The presenters will include, Karl Kreder, M.D., professor and interim head of urology, and Bradley Erickson, M.D., assistant professor of urology.

A patient will also share his experience with ED and incontinence.

City Ballet of Iowa to present 'Nutcracker Suite' Dec. 9 and 11

City Ballet of Iowa (CBI) is presenting two free performances of the "Nutcracker Suite" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Old Brick, 26 E. Market St., Iowa City and 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at the University of Iowa Department of Dance's Halsey Hall Gym Studio.

This presentation of the Nutcracker is a collaborative performance, highlighting Iowa City community artists and students who share studios and are supported by the CBI. Farida of Kahraman Dance will perform the Arabian variation featuring traditional Arabic dances. Lil' Divas and Flight Skool, a group from United Action for Youth, will give a hip-hop/acrobatic interpretation of the Russian variation. UI department of dance students and City Ballet dancers will also perform traditional ballet choreography.

City Ballet of Iowa's mission is to support the local community by offering quality dance education to students of all ages, as well as provide a space for local movement artists to pursue their craft in teaching, choreographing and performing. City Ballet is currently supporting the Poetic Rebound Performance Company, Kahraman Dance, NIA with Beth Pelton, Tai Chi with Lori Enloe and Rachelle Tsachor's Movement Fundamentals classes.
