MEDIA ADVISORY: UI Health Care to host March of Dimes Prematurity Awareness Campaign, Tuesday, Nov. 17
WHAT: Representatives of the March of Dimes and UI Health Care maternal and fetal health experts will present March of Dimes 2009 Premature Birth Report Card for the state of Iowa and discuss plans to improve the state's premature birth rate. A March of Dimes mission family representative will share her personal story about premature birth.
WHEN: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009.
WHERE: University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, first floor atrium of John Colloton Pavilion, UI Hospitals and Clinics (near elevator F). The nearest parking will be Hospital Ramp 2.
WHO: Speakers at the event will include a representative of the March of Dimes Iowa Chapter and UI experts:
Stephen Hunter, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the UI Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine and UI Hospitals and Clinics, and prematurity chair for the March of Dimes Iowa Chapter.
Kim Leslie, M.D., professor and head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UI Carver College of Medicine and UI Hospitals and Clinics.
Other UI experts will be available for comment.
