MEDIA ADVISORY: UI to hold public forum on relocating the Hancher, Voxman and Clapp complex, and the original Art Building complex

WHAT: Following evaluation by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in April 2009 the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, endorsed the plan to replace the 2008 flood-damaged Hancher, Voxman and Clapp complex, as well as the original Art Building complex on the University of Iowa Arts Campus. This public forum will update university and general community members on progress related to the relocation of these facilities. On-going site investigations will be reviewed and public comment will be welcomed.

WHEN: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009.

WHERE: Macbride Hall Lecture Room on the University of Iowa campus.

WHO: All concerned citizens, UI faculty, staff and students, media, and other interested parties are invited to attend the forum. Joe Hibbard of Sasaki and Associates will facilitate the forum and present information on various site options.

WHY: To provide an update and solicit input on proposed relocation site options.
