'Picture This--Don't Smoke' poster available for schools
Back-to-school means starting new classes and activities. But it shouldn't mean starting a bad habit like smoking.
A graphic poster showing two teens and the effects of smoking -- from vision loss to stomach and lung damage to wrinkles -- can help schools deter students from smoking. An estimated 90 percent of people who smoke started by age 18.
The 22 inches by 28 inches poster is available from the Cancer Information Service at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa in conjunction with University of Iowa Children's Hospital and Kohl's.
For pricing -- free for schools in Iowa -- and ordering, contact 800-237-1225 or email@example.com (put "smoking teens" in the subject line).
Additional information and a small pdf of the poster are online at http://www.uihealthcare.com/depts/cancercenter/patients/smokingteens.
