CANCELED: MEDIA ADVISORY: Advance interview with Edward O. Wilson set for 10 a.m. Thursday

Media can interview biologist and author Edward O. Wilson during a teleconference at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in Room 2390 on the second floor of Old Capitol Town Center (also known as the Old Capitol Mall), 201 S. Clinton St.

Wilson, considered to be the father of the modern environmental movement, will give the University of Iowa's 2008-09 Distinguished Lecture at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 at the First United Methodist Church, 214 E. Jefferson St., Iowa City. NOTE: This event has been canceled due to a family emergency, it will be rescheduled at a later date.

The talk, presented by the University Lecture Committee, is free and open to the public. In his speech, Wilson will discuss his scientific career and how it influenced his writing.
