WSUI 'Live from Prairie Lights' remembers Sontag and Mailer Jan. 5

Iowa Public Radio's "Live from Prairie Lights," originating on University of Iowa radio station WSUI, will honor the memory of two of America's greatest writers when it broadcasts an archival production featuring Susan Sontag and Normal Mailer at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5.

This special "Live from Prairie Lights" production, hosted by Julie Englander, will air on WSUI-AM 910 in Iowa City and WOI-AM 640 in Ames.

Sontag read from and discussed her final novel, "In America," April 27, 2000. She died on Dec. 28th, 2004. Mailer read selections from his book, "Time of Our Time," a compilation of his fiction and nonfiction work, on May 8, 1998. He died Nov. 10th, 2007.
