Local high school guidance counselor completes service on UI advisory board

(Counselor name) of (hometown) has recently completed his/her third year of service on the University of Iowa's Office of Admission's High School Counselor Advisory Board. The 15-member board was formed in 1991 to advise the UI Office of Admissions on issues related to the college admissions process.

"(Counselor name's) work on the board these past three years has been extremely effective in helping us make the admissions process easier for students," said Kathy Bassett, senior associate director of admissions. "We'd like to thank (him/her) for his long service and help."

The board meets on the UI campus twice a year in April and September, and each member serves a three-year term. The counselors are listed below alphabetically by hometown followed by the name of their high school:

Algona:  Jim Gale, Algona High
Council Bluffs:  Ginger Morgan, Abraham Lincoln High
Dubuque:  Gina Richman, Dubuque Senior High
Grand Junction:  Ann Walsh-Stueckradt, East Greene High
Perry:  Kirk Waggie, Perry High
Tipton:  Mike Droll, Tipton Community High
West Des Moines:  Mary Gibb, Valley High
