Registration under way for Osher ballroom dance class

Enrollment remains open for a ballroom dance course being offered to older adults through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Iowa Center on Aging.

"Shall We Dance?" will be held every Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. for eight weeks beginning Sept. 19. Classes will be held at Wickham Elementary School, 601 Oakdale Blvd. in Coralville. The cost is $55 per person.

Long-time dance instructor Paul Davis will teach the different forms of ballroom dance, including the waltz, rumba, tango and cha-cha, as well as the history of ballroom dance, costuming, where people can use their skills and more. Dance partners are not required to enroll.

OLLI courses provide unique learning opportunities for all adults age 50 and older. There are no education or experience requirements to enroll, and there are no course tests or grades.

"Shall We Dance?" is one of several OLLI courses available this fall.
