Students and other interested individuals are invited to explore the field of public health at two University of Iowa College of Public Health information fairs to be held Wednesday, Oct. 17, and Thursday, Oct. 18, on the UI campus.

Wednesday's fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second floor of the University Capitol Centre, outside of suite 2600. Thursday's fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the ground-floor atrium of the Eckstein Medical Research Building. Both events are free and open to the public.

"We offer such a variety of degrees and education programs that there really is something for everyone, of every background," said Tanya Uden-Holman, College of Public Health associate dean for education and student affairs. "The No. 1 prerequisite is having a passion for protecting and promoting the health and well-being of our nation and our world."

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about career opportunities in public health and talk to current students and representatives from graduate degree programs in public health. Information on the following programs will be available: Master of Public Health; Master of Health Administration; Master of Science programs in agricultural safety and health, biostatistics, community and behavioral health, epidemiology, occupational and environmental health, and industrial hygiene; and Ph.D. programs in addiction studies, agricultural safety and health, biostatistics, community and behavioral health, epidemiology, health management and policy, industrial hygiene, and occupational and environmental health. Information on the Certificate in Public Health also will be available.
