Princeton Review ranks UI law school, Tippie MBA programs among nation's best

The University of Iowa College of Law and Tippie School of Management are both highly ranked in this year's edition of the Princeton Review.

The UI law school was included in the ranking organization's 2008 edition of "Best 170 Law Schools," and the Tippie School of Management in the Tippie College of Business was included in the "Best 290 Business Schools." Both publications are in bookstores starting today.

The Princeton Review compiled the lists based on its surveys of 18,000 students attending the 170 law schools and 19,000 students attending the 290 business schools in the books, and on school-reported data.

Students cited both UI schools for their small class sizes, friendly professors, low tuition and abundant postgraduate career opportunities. The Best Business Schools publication also ranked the Tippie MBA program number seven under the "Best Administered" category and number six under "most competitive students."

The Princeton Review has posted the ranking lists and information on how they are compiled at http://www.PrincetonReview.com, where the lists can be searched by school or by category.

The ranking lists are based on surveys of law and business school students conducted during the 2006-07, 2005-06 and 2004-05 academic years. Most were completed online at the Princeton Review's student survey site, http://survey.review.com. The 80-question survey asks students about their school's academics, student body and campus life, themselves and their career plans.

The school profiles in each book cover academics, admission, financial aid, campus life and career information. They include advice on funding the degrees and applying to the programs.

The Princeton Review is a New York City-based education services company that provides test-prep courses, education programs, admission services and 200 books published by Random House. The Princeton Review is not affiliated with Princeton University.
