Steam blow set for new chiller plant near Kinnick stadium Nov. 20

University of Iowa Facilities Management will blow steam through piping at the UI's new chiller plant north of Hospital Parking Ramp 3 near Kinnick Stadium between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The blow is required to clean the new pipes serving several buildings in the area. The sound level during the steam blow will be comparable to the Power Plant noon whistle or a locomotive engine. A large steam plume may be visible.

Traffic on Hawkins drive will be maintained during this time.
