Runway to Healing event to support UI Children's Hospital

Proceeds from a special event to be held in Davenport Friday, Nov. 9, will benefit patients and their families receiving care at University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City.

Valley Bank will host "Runway to Healing" beginning at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Golden Leaf Banquet and Convention Center located at 2902 E. Kimberly Rd. in Davenport. "Runway to Healing" will include a luncheon, fashion show and raffle that benefit UI Children's Hospital through Children's Miracle Network.

Jamie Moen of Davenport will share the story of her son, Chance, at the event. Chance received treatment for cancer at UI Children's Hospital beginning in 2005.

Tickets are $30 and are available at all Quad Cities area Valley Bank locations. All proceeds will be donated to UI Children's Hospital through Children's Miracle Network at their annual radiothon Nov. 15-16 in Iowa City.

Children's Miracle Network is the coalition of premier children's hospitals, which provide state-of-the-art care, life-saving research and preventive education for children, treating 17 million children for every disease and injury imaginable.

Clothing for the show will be provided by Charm Boutique, Four Seasons and Rhomberg Furriers. Hair and makeup will be provided by William Wesley Grand Salon and Spa. Paula Sands from KWQC-TV6 and Bill Wesley from William Wesley Grand Salon and spa will emcee the fashion show. Ron Evans and Pat Leuck from Mix 96 will emcee the raffle.
