Children's Miracle Network Celebration Supports UI Children's Hospital

The 2007 Children's Miracle Network Celebration to help raise funds to support children's hospitals, including University of Iowa Children's Hospital, will air on Mediacom Connections Channel 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Saturday, June 2, and from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, June 3.

For the fifth consecutive year, Mediacom is the "exclusive broadcast partner" with UI Children's Hospital to broadcast the Children's Miracle Network Telethon.

This year's telethon, hosted by Marie Osmond and John Schneider, features entertainment acts and short stories about how children are being helped through the efforts of Children's Miracle Network.

Children's Miracle Network Telethon raises money to support children's hospitals across the United States and Canada. During the program there will be a local phone number and Web site on the screen for viewers who want to donate to the Children's Miracle Network at UI Children's Hospital. The funds raised from Iowa will stay in the state.

"The stories of children served by University of Iowa Children's Hospital are indicative of the types of specialists that are available at Iowa's only academic medical center. Iowa is fortunate to have the depth of services available here in Iowa City," said Michael Artman, M.D., physician-in-chief at UI Children's Hospital.
