Tuma Basa, manager of programming at MTV and an alumnus of the University of Iowa, will discuss how MTV manages its various brands in a lecture at the University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business on Wednesday, March 21.

Basa's lecture, part of the US Bank Executive Speaker Series, begins at 10:30 a.m. in Room W151 in the Pappajohn Business Building. Admission is free and open to the public.

Raised in both Iowa City and Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Basa received his bachelor's degree in economics from the UI in 1998. While a student, he interned at Black Entertainment Television (BET), which led to a full-time job in the network's music department. He later transferred to BET's sister network, MTV, where he currently works in the music and talent department.
