July 6, 2007 UI Family Care-North Liberty Hosts Annual Sports Physicals Service Specialists from University of Iowa Family Care-North Liberty and UI Sports Medicine will offer sports physical examinations for students ages 12-18 from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 18 and Tuesday, Aug. 21, at UI Family Care-North Liberty located at 3 Lions Drive in North Liberty. This annual service brings together physicians who have treated professional and competitive athletes at every level in a clinic built on the philosophy of complete, efficient and effective service. UI Sports Medicine and UI Family Care-North Liberty offer diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation for all active-minded people. "We are pleased to again offer this important service to our community," said Britt Marcussen, M.D., clinical assistant professor of family medicine at UI Family Care-North Liberty. "Sports physicals are essential to helping young athletes prepare for the upcoming school year and their competitive activities." UI physicians treat athletes in the NBA and Major League Baseball, as well as serving as the primary and orthopedic physicians for the UI Hawkeyes. The cost of each physical is $25.
