Tippie MBA-PM Expands Des Moines Program

The University of Iowa's Tippie MBA-PM program is expanding in Des Moines for spring semester by adding a third classroom to its facility in the W.A. Krause Center for Entrepreneurial Education.

"The program offered in the Krause Center continues to grow as more and more Des Moines workers learn about the outstanding program we offer there," said Gary Gaeth, associate dean of the Tippie MBA for Professionals and Managers (PM) program. "This new classroom will ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our students by adding space for additional programs and classes."

The new classroom will be in use when spring semester classes start January 16 with 260 students in the Krause Center, located at 6100 Grand Ave. Gaeth said the room will have a capacity of 48 students and features the same state of the art technology and videoconferencing capabilities as classrooms on the main UI campus that will allow students at the three MBA-PM program locations in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities to interact in real time. In addition, he said the communications link will provide a method to connect the program's classrooms across the state.

The Tippie MBA-PM program also has two other classrooms in the Krause Center, holding 70 and 32 students, as well as a computer lab.

Classes that will be taught in the new classroom this spring are "Data and Decisions," "International Finance," and two sections of "Management in Organizations."

The MBA for Professionals and Managers (MBA-PM) program is offered predominately in the evenings for working professionals in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids and the Quad Cities. It is one of three MBA programs offered by the University of Iowa's Tippie School of Management designed to enhance professional education. In addition, the Tippie School of Management offers a full-time MBA and the Executive MBA. The Tippie College of Business, accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), is consistently ranked among the top business schools in the world. It provides instruction in a personalized setting with easy access to qualified faculty and staff, and its programs utilize the latest technology to ensure that students receive a comprehensive management education that will help them succeed in today's competitive world.
