UI Community Credit Union To Provide On-Campus Financial Services

The University of Iowa Community Credit Union (UICCU) has been selected to provide a number of financial services on-campus for University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff, featuring a new, on-campus branch location within the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU), according to a joint announcement today by the university and UICCU.

Officials said that the university sought competitive bids through a public process for the proposed financial services, with a contractual agreement ultimately awarded to UICCU for a five-year period.

The UICCU already owns and services all campus ATMs, and under the new agreement UICCU said the 19 ATMs will continue to be operated surcharge-free. Additionally, the UICCU will partner with University ID Card Services to add ATM and pin-based debit functionality for student, faculty, and staff university ID cardholders as soon as the fall semester.

The new, on-campus branch within the IMU likely will open in the spring, officials said. The branch will be located on the ground floor in close proximity to the University Book Store, providing a convenient location for students transacting business. Additionally, the UICCU campus branch will accept payment of university bills and UI departmental deposits.
