Moonlight Ski And S'mores To Be Held Feb. 3

Despite the recent cold weather, the Moonlight Ski & S'mores program hosted by the University of Iowa Division of Recreational Services' Touch The Earth program will be held this weekend, but with some changes.

The public is invited to the Macbride Nature Recreation Area (MNRA) from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3 for a s'mores cookout at the Sumac Shelter. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are not recommended based on the poor snow quality and low temperatures, but those gathering at the shelter can take a hike on an MNRA trail.

The event is free and open to the public. Participants are reminded to dress warmly.

The Touch The Earth Program provides various outdoor recreation opportunities to the University community. For more information on upcoming clinics, trips and the Outdoor Rental Center, call 319-384-1225.
