'Golfing Fore Cancer' proceeds benefit patients

Organizers of the third annual "Golfing Fore Cancer" tournament presented a check for $25,318 on Thursday, Dec. 27, to leaders of Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa in Iowa City.

The funds will be used to provide care and comfort to patients receiving treatments at Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The four-person, best-shot event took place Aug. 10 at Saddleback Golf course in Solon, Iowa, followed by a steak dinner and drawing for prizes.

Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center is Iowa's only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center.
