'Breakfast with Santa' event to support UI Children's Hospital

Proceeds from a special event this Sunday will benefit patients and their families receiving care at University of Iowa Children's Hospital in Iowa City.

Children and their families can dine with their favorite Jolly Old Elf from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, during the "Breakfast with Santa" event at the Coralville Marriott Hotel and Convention Center. Hosts include Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus and a special Santa's helper who also moonlights as Miss Iowa, Diana Reed.

Participating families can enjoy breakfast, have their pictures taken with Santa and win prizes during special raffles. Parents can make reservations by calling 319-688-4027 or sending an e-mail to jennifer-downes@marriott.com.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Children age 5 and younger can participate free of charge. All proceeds from this event will be donated to UI Children's Hospital through Children's Miracle Network.

University of Iowa Children's Hospital serves children and their families at its main campus in Iowa City and satellite clinics in communities throughout the region.
