Enjoy Burgers and Blues at the IMU River Terrace this fall
Looking for a new place for lunch this fall? Then check out Burgers and Blues, an outdoor event starting Thursday, Aug. 30 on the Iowa Memorial Union's (IMU) River Terrace. The University of Iowa community, Iowa City residents and visitors are invited to come out and relax by the river while enjoying grilled favorites and free live music.
Every Thursday from Aug. 30 to Sept. 27, lunch will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and music will play from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Menu items start at $2.95 and include burgers, veggie burgers, hotdogs, brats, chicken and more from the Hawkeye Snack Shop.
The Iowa Memorial Union sponsors this event. Burgers and Blues will be held on the IMU River Terrace, on the west side of the building, outside snack shop on the ground floor of the IMU. The IMU is located on the corner of Madison and Jefferson streets.
"Burgers and Blues is a program we started during summer orientation," said David Grady, associate vice president and director of University Life Centers. "We received positive feedback from students, faculty, parents, and community members who attended during the summer. We look forward to continuing this event in the fall, welcoming students back to the university and enjoying the Iowa riverfront."
