Loebsack To Meet With UI Students, Administrators

U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack, D-Iowa, will visit campus April 5 to gather input on the importance of student aid to the University of Iowa and its students. He will brief attendees on the status of student aid legislation in the 110th Congress.

Loebsack is meeting with UI administrators and student government leaders in River View Room No. 1 at the Iowa Memorial Union. The news media is invited to arrive at noon. Loebsack will be available to address reporters' questions at 1:15 p.m.

"Last year, federally financed student aid provided over $167 million through more than 30,000 awards to students and their families at the University of Iowa," said Derek Willard, special assistant to the president for governmental relations and associate vice president for research. "This meeting will be a very important opportunity for students to let Congressman Loebsack know the impact all this has.
