UI Police Seek Help Identifying Assailant

At 12:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 30 a female University of Iowa student jogging on campus was assaulted by an unknown male. A campus security guard came upon the assault in progress at the stairs northwest of Stanley Residence Hall and the assailant fled on foot.
 
The victim describes the perpetrator as African American, 18-22 years old, and approximately 5 foot 8 inches tall. He was wearing a dark blue or black hooded sweatshirt and dark colored pants. He was last seen running westbound across the Hancher Auditorium footbridge.
 
The University of Iowa Police Department is investigating this incident. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 319-335-5022.
