Expert to Discuss Accessing NIH Grants

Kay Etzler, a specialist with the National Institutes of Health, will visit the University of Iowa to discuss how her agency distributes more than $600 million annually to small businesses. Her presentation will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Room 2117 of the Medical Education & Research Facility on Newton Road on the UI campus.

The discussion will be free and open to the public, although registration is requested. To register, call 319-335-3742.

Etzler works with the National Institutes of Health's Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. The NIH grants more than $600 million annually to small businesses through SBIR and SBTT contracts. Etzler's focus is developing and managing programs that assist small companies move their products into the marketplace.
