UI School Of Social Work Seeks Students For Quad Cities Graduate Program

The University of Iowa School of Social Work will hold two information sessions for anyone interested in earning a Master's of Social Work degree in the Quad Cities area. Bob Jackson and Mary Newcomb, faculty members in the UI School of Social Work in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will host the information sessions at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, and Thursday, Jan. 18, in Room 113 Sorenson Hall, Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.

Students can complete the entire program in the Quad Cities Graduate Study Center located in Sorenson Hall, Augustana College. Students register for an average of two courses each semester, including summers, and complete the degree in three years. Some elective courses, offered throughout the three years, are open to non-degree seeking students who have already earned bachelor's degrees.

The School of Social Work is committed to preparing practitioners with a commitment to social justice. Students from diverse backgrounds and those who are interested in cross-cultural perspectives are encouraged to apply. Application materials are online at http://www.uiowa.edu/~socialwk. In addition to its on-campus program in Iowa City, the UI School of Social Work offers the MSW in the Quad Cities, Des Moines and Sioux City, in cooperation with the UI Division of Continuing Education.
