UI School of Social Work Hosts Information Sessions About MSW Program In Ottumwa

The University of Iowa School of Social Work will hold two information sessions for anyone interested in earning a Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree in the Ottumwa area. The school is planning a one-time opportunity for students to complete the degree part-time over a four-year period beginning in summer 2007.

Bob Jackson, director of distance education for the school, will host information sessions from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, and Friday, Jan. 5, 2007, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center, Meeting Room D.

Students in the Ottumwa program will register for an average of two courses each semester, including summers, and complete the degree in four years. A majority of the courses will be offered in Ottumwa, but students will travel to Des Moines or Iowa City for some electives and seminars over the four years. Prospective students from diverse backgrounds and those interested in cross cultural perspectives and social justice are encouraged to apply.

Application materials are online at http://www.uiowa.edu/~socialwk. To request materials by mail or email, contact Madelyn Bowersox at 515-235-4660. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 1, and prospective students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
