MEDIA ADVISORY: Forum To Address Health Care Issues In Iowa

WHAT: "Rebalancing Health Care in the Heartland," a forum that brings together health care policymakers and key decision makers to identify priorities that address health care issues of Iowans. This event will focus on issues related to Medicaid and Medicare -- such as access, cost, quality and prevention -- that affect Iowa children, elders, those with mental health needs and those with disabilities.

WHEN: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15.

WHERE: Richey Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) on the University of Iowa campus.

WHO: Keynote speakers include Kevin Concannon, director of the Iowa Department of Human Services, who will speak at 9 a.m. on "Post-election 2006: Prospecting for System Opportunities in Iowa Health Care" in the Richey Ballroom at the IMU. Iowa State Rep. Dave Heaton, House District 91, Republican, and Iowa State Sen. Amanda Ragan, Senate District 7, Democrat, will speak at 12:15 p.m. on "Forecasting the Legislative Session" in the Second Floor Ballroom of the IMU.
