Touch the Earth Hosts Yellowstone Winter Break Trip

The Touch the Earth Outdoor Recreation and Education Program at the University of Iowa Division of Recreational Services is sponsoring a trip to Yellowstone National Park. Participants will explore the Mammoth Hot Springs area of the North Entrance of Yellowstone National Park Jan. 5-14, 2007.

The trip includes most meals, equipment, leadership opportunities, transportation, camping fees and permit fees and cost of $595. The trip will be both fun and challenging. Some of the activities on the trip include: relaxing in the hot springs, spending time in the backcountry snowshoeing and camping. Yellowstone has abundant wildlife and many chances to see geothermal activity.

Registration for the trip is now underway at the UI's Outdoor Rental Center, located in the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex, 2820 Prairie Meadow Drive in Iowa City. The trip is limited to seven people and is open for anyone, regardless of their affiliation to the University of Iowa. The deadline for registration is Dec. 6.
