Nonprofit Management Academy Continues 2005-06 Series With Fund Raising Seminar
The Nonprofit Management Academy announces the next monthly seminar in its yearlong series for 2005-06. "Fund Raising" will be presented on Thursday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Coral Ridge Mall Community Room, 1451 Coral Ridge Avenue, in Coralville.
This seminar will address planning for fund raising and setting realistic expectations for nonprofit organizations. Participants will learn about and exchange ideas on corporate gifts, building a donor base, sponsorships, individual memberships, direct-mail campaigns, special events and planned giving. Strategies for meeting an organization's fund raising goals will be examined and detailed.
The trainers for the session are Monique DiCarlo, director of the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC), and Regenia Bailey, director of the Bailey Leadership Initiative.
The fee for the seminar is $50, and CEU credits are available. Participants may enroll in individual courses or a program leading to a Certificate in Nonprofit Management.
The Nonprofit Management Academy is a joint project sponsored by the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC) and the Iowa Nonprofit Resource Center at The University of Iowa, Iowa State University Extension, United Way of Johnson County, Iowa Shares, the Iowa Women's Foundation, the Community Leadership Program, the Johnson County Cultural Alliance, The 10,000 Hours Show, and the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce.
