Agatha Award Nominee Damsgaard Reads On WSUI June 22

Shirley Damsgaard, postmaster of Stuart, Iowa for 20 years, will read from "Charmed To Death," her second mystery in the Ophelia and Abby Mysteries series, at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 22 on the "Live from Prairie Lights" series on University of Iowa radio station WSUI, AM 910.

The broadcast will originate in a free event in the Prairie Lights bookstore at 15 S. Dubuque St. in downtown Iowa City. Listen on the Internet at wsui.uiowa.edu.

The Ophelia and Abby series -- described by one critic as "'Bewitched' meets 'Murder She Wrote'" -- is set in a small-town in Iowa and features a septuagenarian witch and her psychic granddaughter. The first installment, "Witch Way to Murder," has been nominated for an Agatha award.

Critic Harriet Klausner wrote, "This is a very special mystery in an enchanting series as Ophelia and Abby perform magic in the traditional 'Bell, Book and Candle' methodology."
