Java House Joins The Iowa Memorial Union
The newly renovated Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) will welcome The Java House under retail operations starting in mid-August.
This new location will offer four specialty brewed coffees daily including Fair Trade Certified Options, specialty espresso beverages, blended fruit smoothies made with Whitey's frozen yogurt, sodas and a large selection of freshly baked pastries, cookies and bars.
The Java House in the IMU will be located by the South stairwells on the ground floor and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday. The new location accepts cash, major credit cards and University of Iowa Student/Faculty Charge.
The Java House has seven Iowa City locations and was voted the best coffee house in the area two years in a row by the Iowa City Press-Citizen.
The IMU is in the midst of a $9.9 million renovation that will create a more inviting, functional and attractive union for the university, as well as add 13,000 square feet of additional student activity space. Renovations are expected to be completed in December.
