Registration Open For Bridging The Gap Minority Law Conference
Applications are now being taken from students interested in attending the 29th annual Bridging the Gap pre-law conference for minority students who are considering careers in law on March 31 at the University of Iowa.
The conference will be held in the Boyd Law Building from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. As usual, the conference will include workshops on writing an effective personal statement, Law School Admission Test (LSAT) preparation, law school study skills, financing a legal education and opportunities in law-related fields. Participants will also attend a mock law school class, a law school recruitment fair and a question-and-answer panel featuring minority lawyers.
Although aimed primarily at current undergraduate students, the conference is open to all minorities seeking more information about law school. The registration fee is $30, which includes materials and meals.
The conference is intended to give participants a taste of law school life that is further enhanced by the opportunity to meet and talk with legal professionals and with law students currently attending the UI College of Law. The law school recruiting fair will provide participants with an opportunity to speak to law school representatives and determine which law schools best meet their needs.
