Cedar Falls Native Completes UI Radiologic Technology Training

Jennifer Wessels, a Cedar Falls, Iowa, native, has graduated from the Cardiovascular Interventional (CVI) Program at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Wessels completed her education in cardiovascular interventional technology on Feb. 24. The six-month training program accepts students each fall and spring and is one of several advanced offerings in the Post-Radiologic Technology Education Program.

UI Hospitals and Clinics first offered CVI technology training in 1992. Cardiovascular interventional technology plays an important role in diagnostic and therapeutic radiologic patient procedures. Concentrating mainly on the patient's cardiac and vascular systems, CVI includes angiography, venography, central venous access, and both nonvascular and vascular interventional procedures.
