Recruiters Gather For UI Spring Job And Internship Fair Feb. 28
More than 100 businesses and organizations will be at the University of Iowa's Spring Job and Internship Fair Feb. 28, recruiting the best and brightest UI students for internships and full-time positions.
The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Amos Dean Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel, a new location this year. An estimated 1,600 University of Iowa students will gather at the event. All students seeking full-time positions and internships are encouraged to attend.
Sponsored by the UI's Marvin A. and Rose Lee Pomerantz Career Center, the event will include local, national and international companies and organizations, including Pfizer, Wells Fargo, Target and Cerner Corporation as well as Iowa-based employers including KFXA-TV, Pella, HNI and AEGON.
"This is a great opportunity to network with potential employers about full-time or internship positions," said Angi Schumacher, director of marketing and public relations at the Pomerantz Career Center.
She advises students to prepare for the fair as they would for an interview.
"Bring copies of your resume, dress appropriately and bring a list of questions that you have for the employers. This is a good way to jump start your career search."
Sponsors of the Spring Job and Internship Fair are The Principal Financial Group and HNI Corporation.
