Open Forum Set With Regents To Discuss Presidential Search
An open forum with members of the Board of Regents, State of Iowa, to discuss the search for a new president of the University of Iowa will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2 in the Second Floor Ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union.
The forum, open to all faculty, staff and students of the University of Iowa, will provide an opportunity to ask questions and offer comments to the Regents regarding the presidential search.
The Regents are considering the method they will use to search for a replacement for current President David Skorton, who is leaving in June to become the president of Cornell University.
At least six of the nine regents are expected to attend the forum, including Board President Michael Gartner.
Child care will be provided, with pre-registration required. Contact Julie Thatcher for registration information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
For more information about the presidential search process, please see the Faculty Senate Web site at http://www.uiowa.edu/~facsen/forum.htm. In addition, questions for the Regents that could be asked at the forum may be posted at http://survey.uiowa.edu/wsb.dll/staff/forum.htm.
The open forum is sponsored by the Faculty Senate, Staff Council and University of Iowa Student Government.
Please direct questions about the forum to Julie Thatcher, email@example.com.
