UI Hosts Joffrey Workshop Audition And Master Class On Feb. 19

The University of Iowa will be one of 14 locations throughout the country where young dancers can audition to become one of the 100 students who will participate in the summer Joffrey Workshop, June 24-July 15 in San Antonio, Texas. Susan and Buddy Trevino, Joffrey Workshop Texas coordinators, will conduct the auditions 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, in the Loft of UI Halsey Hall, the home of the UI Dance Department.

The audition is for intermediate/advanced students ages 11-20, and the cost is $25 per student, cash only.

While they are here, the Trevinos will also conduct a master class though the UI Dance Department's Dance Forum/UI Youth Ballet, 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. that day, for ballet students ages 11-20.

The cost for each master class participant is also $25. Teacher observation is welcomed, with an observation fee of $10.

Registration for the master class will begin in Halsey Loft at 11 a.m.
