UI Professors Headline Panel Discussion On 'Prayer & Healing' Feb. 11
"Prayer & Healing: History and Contemporary Practice" is the theme of a free panel discussion and question-and-answer session that will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Room A of the Iowa City Public Library.
Transportation and childcare are available for the event, which is free and open to the public.
The interactive discussion will feature four panelists: moderator Fred Woodard, a University of Iowa professor of African American World Studies; Susan C. Lawrence, a UI professor of history and medicine; F. Larry Shostrom, a UI professor of medicine and head of pastoral services; and Guillia Plum, CSB, Christian Science Board of Lectureship. The event is sponsored by the UI's Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine, the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Iowa City.
