UI Senior From Iowa City Wins Liberal Arts & Sciences Scholarship
Megan Deirdre Roy, a University of Iowa senior from Iowa City, has been awarded the $1,000 Kay Keeshan Hamod Scholarship from the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. The award is given annually to a liberal arts and sciences student who is majoring in history and is a member of the Honors Program.
In addition to history, Roy is majoring in art history. She is a 1998 graduate of West High School and is a daughter of Christopher and Nora Roy of 615 Templin Road, Iowa City.
Kay Keeshan Hamod received her doctorate in modern European intellectual history from the UI in 1976. Hamod taught at the UI, Bowling Green University, and Rutgers University. Her family established this scholarship in her memory.
