Java House Opens In IMU
The University of Iowa's Iowa Memorial Union welcomed a new location of The Java House on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
The Java House is located by the south stairwell on the ground floor of the IMU and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The new location offers four specialty brewed coffees daily, including Fair Trade Certified Options, specialty espresso beverages, blended fruit smoothies made with Whitey's frozen yogurt, sodas and a large selection of freshly baked pastries, cookies and bars.
"We are excited to continue to build a relationship with the university," The Java House owner Tara Cronbaugh said. "We have been brewing your local coffee since 1994 and it's nice to finally open our doors inside the IMU."
The Java House has seven Iowa City locations and was voted the best coffee house in the area two years in a row by readers of the Iowa City Press-Citizen newspaper.
