Spring Semester Undergraduate Dance Concert Will Be May 4-6 At UI

The University of Iowa Department of Dance will present its Spring Undergraduate Concert at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, May 4-6, in the Space/Place Theatre of UI North Hall.

The program -- selected by faculty adjudicators Armando Duarte, Jennifer Kayle and Alan Sener -- will feature:

-- "Snapshot," a septet by Abigail Gray, with music by Adam Johnson;

-- Lisa Kettemann's solo "Pseudonymity," set to music by Lhasa;

-- "Flight of Curiosity," a quartet by Keeley Walsh to music by Stephen Caplan;

-- "Laboring Transition" a quintet by Tara Leaderbrand, with music by Imogene Heap;

-- "Deep," a trio by Rachel Wise, with music by Uakti;

-- "Rewindniwer," a duet by Stephanie Dizikes, with music from "Zuni Movement";

--  "Go In Love Young Man," a large ensemble piece by Meghan Osterman, with music by Cy Coleman and Nat King Cole, and text by Yeats;

-- "Within These . . .", a trio with choreography and musical arrangement by Kristen Schifferdecker;

-- "Five O'clock Rush," an octet by Blaire Bjerke, with music by St. Germain;

-- "Inspiration Unveiled, a solo by Katie Johnson to original music by Tek Winesberry;

-- "Insomniatic," a duet by Jackie Stewart, with music by George Winston, Yo-Yo Ma and Alison Krauss;

-- "(Over) Productive Persons, a trio by Nicole Hussain to music by Robert Walter;

-- "High Road," co-choreographed to music of Prince by Leigha Mena, Julia Katcher, Jackie Stewart and Nicole Hussain; and

-- "Run, Rush, Rebound," an ensemble piece by Richael Hillman, to music by Blue Man Group.

Tickets are $12 (UI student $6; free admission for children under 12).

Tickets may be purchased in advance from the University Box Office in the Iowa Memorial Union. In addition to window sales at the Iowa Memorial Union, the University Box Office may be reached by phone at 319-335-3041 or toll-free 800-346-4401. The fax number is 319-335-3407. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 5-9 p.m. Sunday. In addition to cash and checks, the University Box Office accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover cards.

Any remaining tickets will be on sale at the door.

North Hall is located at the north end of Madison Street on the UI campus. It is accessible from both Madison Street and the Anne Cleary Walk. Parking is available in the North Campus Parking Ramp.
